Confirmation

Communion Instruction/Preparation
1st Communion classes are offered to students beginning in the 6th grade. The classes are offered for four consecutive Wednesday evenings in October from 7 to 8:15 p.m. in the Community Center. Students MUST have a parent participate with them in the classes. This is intended to be a family learning experience as parents are the primary spiritual nurturers of their children. (If no parents is available please speak with one of the pastor’s ahead of time.) The Communion classes prepare students for a proper understanding of, and meaningful participation in, the Sacrament. Confirmation is a process in which we help our students in grades 7 and 8 take ownership of their faith. The confirmation program takes place primarily during the school year on Sunday mornings. Starting in 7th grade, students may begin taking Confirmation class in our interactive, group format. There are large group teachings, fun games, and small group discussions as we meet and cover some of the essentials of our faith.

Confirmation takes place beginning in the fall of a student's 7th grade year and concludes during the fall of their 9th grade year. Confirmation is an important part of the faith-life of our students as it is a chance for them to take ownership of the faith that has been passed on to them.
