Trinity alumna Lauren A. has set a very large goal. She is attempting to collecting 500 coloring books and crayon packs to be delivered to Children's Hospital in Detroit for the patients. Deliveries are being accepted in the lobby at Trinity until Friday, Nov. 30.

Lauren got the idea to collect coloring books and crayons for the children after being a patient there a few years ago.

Several years ago, while at a volleyball tournament, Lauren A. knew something was wrong. Then a seventh grader, Lauren began to lose her vision and strength in her limbs and body. She spent several days at Children's Hospital in Detroit as doctors ruled out several maladies and eventually diagnosed her with a rare form of migraine.

"All I wanted to do was color. There were no coloring books of crayons available," said Lauren. "After I was released, I wanted to collect them for all of the kids that are stuck i the hospital."

She has held this drive each year since she was in the hospital.

Lauren said any coloring books are being accepted and all crayons as well, however Crayola are recommended because they are lead free. All donations can be dropped off in the Trinity school lobby by Friday after school.

"It feels really good to help out. Someone like me, even from a small middle school and at a young age, can make a difference," said Lauren.
