Sixth grade takes part in outdoor ed

September 21, 2021

The hallways were a little quieter Sept. 15-18 as our sixth grade was out of the building. They were distance learning--but not from their computers. Instead, the class was at outdoor education at Camp Copneconic in Fenton.

The students and their adult chaperones left early on Wednesday Sept. 15 and they were busy from the minute they arrived at camp. There was building--both of the actual and team variety. The students worked together to complete several tasks. They also had the opportunity to participate in other activities like archery, ziplining and learning about animals found in the area of Camp Copneconic.

The camp is a YMCA facility located on 700 acres with a mix of historic and modern facilities. The students were assisted by Camp Copneconic's trained staff members.

The students and parents had a great time together over the three days. Take a look at their experience in the following album. The pictures are courtesy of Jon Kohlmann.
