Trump takes Trinity

November 03, 2020

It's  President Donald Trump win at Trinity as students participated in a mock election.

The eighth grade led the activities, which began months ago. They registered students, teachers and staff to vote, created an electoral college map of the school, learned about the candidates and campaigned for them and held an election day rally. Actually, two, one for the younger students and one for the upper grades.

The eighth graders acted as Trump, Mike Pence, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Melania Trump and Jill Biden. They were moderated by Trinity's version of Savannah Guthrie of NBC and Meg Oliver of CBS. Uncle Sam was on hand to encourage the voters and the Secret Service protected everyone from a rogue demonstrator who tried to get too close to the candidates.

After all students had voted, the election results were announced to the school. In the popular vote, Trump received 117 votes while Biden received 77 votes. In the  electoral college, Trump received 34 votes while Biden received 15 votes.

Congratulations to our entire eighth grade class on their successful presidential rally.

We've included the videos from both of the rallies held today.
