What’s Happening at Trinity—Feb. 26, 2023

NEW SECURITY CAMERAS--For several months, our facilities team has worked diligently to enhance the safety of our staff, students and guests through the implementation of new security cameras. These cameras are located throughout the building and can be monitored to prevent malicious activity and can also be reviewed if we need to investigate any situations.

LENT SEASON INFORMATION

MIDWEEK WORSHIP—Each Wednesday throughout Lent, Trinity hosts a midweek, midday devotion at noon the Chapel.

CROSSTALK AUDIO DEVOTIONS will be available during the season of Lent. These 5 minute devotions are sent directly into your email inbox each day beginning Feb. 22. E3 CONTINUES THROUGH LENT—E3, our Wednesday evening gathering and activities for all ages, continues throughout the spring! Free pizza is served at 6 p.m. followed by the meet ups at 6:30 p.m. There is something for everyone in the family. We have two pastor-led Bible studies, senior high and junior high youth groups, a spot for preteens, a class for preschool through grade 3 and a nursery for babies. LENTEN PREACHING SERIES—Our Lent preaching series, which begins on Feb. 25/26, is “A demon, a Pharisee, a Samaritan Woman, a blind man and a dead guy walk into a bar. . . . .Jesus.”

SAVE THE DATE—FIRST COMMUNION CLASS—Our First Communion Faith Stepping Stone begins on Tuesday, March 14 and runs March 21 and 28 in the Community Center. This stepping stone is designed for fifth graders and their parents. It will prepare your student for receiving the Lord’s Supper. Students are eligible to participate in the Lord's Supper on March 30, which is Maundy Thursday. At least one parent must attend with your student. Please RSVP at Trinityct.org/firstcommunion. BAPTISM CLASSES—If you are interested in baptism at Trinity, Pastor Jeremy has scheduled several virtual baptism class—Feb. 28, May 2, June 19, Aug. 7 all at 6:30 p.m. We talk about what baptism is, how we do it, why we do it, our role, your role and how this all plays out in the “real life” of your home. TEXAS ROADHOUSE FUNDRAISER—Mark your calendar! After a 3-year hiatus due to COVID, the Trinity family will once again be able to help Women’s League support numerous missions and local nonprofits by simply having dinner at the Chesterfield Texas Roadhouse on Tuesday, March 14. More info to follow in future Announcers and at the Coffee Hour, hosted by Women’s League this weekend. MEL OTT BASEBALL PROGRAM—This year, Trinity will participate in the Mel-Ott Baseball League, playing against other Lutheran churches and schools in the area. The program is open to boys and girls who are school students or church members. Cost is approximately $175 per child, including a uniform. TRINITY CHRISTIAN COUNSELING marks eight years in operation this month! Our first clients came in February 2015 at our former location in Mt. Clemens with our first two counselors, David Brown and Kristin Hardy. In our expanded Clinton Township location, we have five additional clinicians: Amy Prosch, Dan Burke, Zhela Bennett, Ernest Brown and Elizabeth Hanvey. Sessions are scheduled weekdays from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. We accept many insurance plans and private pay. BLOOD DRIVE IN MARCH—Trinity will host a blood drive for the American Red Cross on Monday, March 20 from 1-7 p.m. in the Community Center. Trinity’s drives have continued throughout the pandemic in a safe way and have been vital to the Red Cross. To sign up, go to RedCrossBlood.org and use code TrinityCT.

MACOMB HABITAT CONTINUES TO SUPPORT UKRAINE—We’ve marked the February first anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the refugee crisis it created. Take time to pray for peace and a resolution of the conflict. There remain millions of people displaced all over Europe and beyond. The focus has moved to longer-term shelter services. Macomb Habitat continues to raise funds in support of Habitat Romania’s expanded home-building program, a partner since 2006. Every donation of any size will be transferred completely to encourage their work. Donate through Trinity and the Impact Missions program with a designated gift, or through the secure Donation page at macombhabitat.org.

SUMMER CAMP VOLUNTEER COUNSELORS WANTED—If you know a 6th-12th grade student looking to work with kids, our summer camp has openings for Volunteer Counselors. The VCs assist the cabin leaders. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Those interested must attend a one-hour mandatory orientation and training sessions on Sunday, March 19 at 12:15 p.m. or Tuesday, April 18 at 6 p.m. in the Youth Lounge.
