What’s Happening at Trinity—July 11, 2021

INTERESTED IN BECOMING A MEMBER OF TRINITY—Whether you are interested in exploring membership at Trinity or interested in finding out more about Christianity, this 10-week class is for you. We will explore Christ’s gracious invitation of a personal relationship with God and the Spirit-filled life of following Christ as his disciple. Life with Jesus is for anyone who would like to attend, and is required of those considering membership at Trinity (but does not obligate you to become a member.) Life with Jesus will be held on Mondays, 7-8:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 13, in the Church Lounge. Childcare is available. Online sign up will be available beginning July 15 at Trinityct.org/LWJ.

BAPTISM PROGRAM—If you are interested in baptism at Trinity, Jeremy Ashley will host two upcoming baptism sessions to prepare you for the process. We talk about what baptism is, how we do it, why we do it, our role, your role and how this all plays out in the “real life” of your home. You will also have the opportunity to schedule a baptism. These sessions will be held online via Zoom. The first will be held July 8 at 6 p.m. and the second will be July 12 at noon. To sign up, go to

OUTDOOR SERVICES—Our 11 a.m. service will be held outside weekly as weather allows. Bring a chair or blanket and join us as we praise God outside!

SUMMER PREACHING SERIES—SUMMER IN THE “SON” — Join us during the “sunny” days of summer as we follow the life and teaching of Jesus the “Son of God” as recorded for us in Mark’s Gospel.

  • July 18—Jesus & Water Walking—Gen. 9:8-17 and Mark 6:45-56
  • July 25—Jesus & Poor Hygiene—Isaiah 29:11-19 and Mark 7:1-23

MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT PROGRAM CONTINUES—Trinity Youth Group will continue to meet on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer! Our youth team is planning for the months ahead. TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY-- Meet to enjoy God's Word every Tuesday morning 9:30-10:45 a.m. Led by Mary Hartman and Lila Tirsell. Meetings will be held in the Church Lounge.

WEDNESDAY MORNING MEN’S BIBLE STUDY meets Wednesday mornings at 6 a.m. in the Church Lounge. The topic changes regularly. Study guide provided. Bring your own breakfast/beverage. We will NOT have coffee to serve. Pat Anderson will lead the group. If you want to join by Zoom, email Pat at

FALL BIBLE STUDY PLANNED—The Monday evening women’s Bible study will Bonnie Young will resume Monday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. The group will begin with Elijah Bible Study by Priscilla Shirer. Stay tuned for more information.

MOPS IS BACK THIS FALL! Momming is hard, but you don't have to do it alone! Join us in the Fall for the Mother of all Meetup—Trinity's MOPS & MOMsnext! This group is for moms of newborns all the way through school-aged children. There is breakfast, activities, guest speakers and childcare is provided. ST JOHN ROCHESTER HOSTS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT—St. John Rochester is hosting a 3-on-3 basketball tournament for grade school students 5th-8th graders on Aug. 21. Sign up at https://conta.cc/3fsRAOo.

STEPHEN MINISTRY—Stephen Ministers are specially trained members of the congregation who provide one-to-one Christian Care to people who need someone to talk to. All caring relationships are confidential, free, and provide emotional and spiritual support to those in need. TRINITY QUILTERS RESUMES—The Trinity Quilters for Lutheran World Relief will resume meeting in person in August! The quilters will meet on Aug. 17 in the church foyer at 9:30 a.m. Subsequent meetings will be held on the third Tuesday of each month in the Community Center. CHRISTIAN MUSIC FESTIVAL BENEFITS COMPASSION—Looking for a fun faith-filled, family-friendly experience?! Grace Christian Music Festival is happening July 24 at Lake St. Clair Metropark! CALLING ALL COOKS AND FOODIES You know you want to try out some of those casserole recipes on your Pinterest board! Trinity provides meals/casseroles for our mission, Family of God in Detroit, on the second Wednesday of every month and we need volunteers to provide a casserole/meal once a month. Family of God serves meals to about 100 people in the local Detroit community 6 days a week. If you are able to help please call Karen Langreet to be added to the list! WELCOME MARK BROWN—Mark Brown will officially begin as Trinity’s school principal on July 15. We are planning an official installation at a later date.

PRESCHOOL OPENINGS-- Trinity's Early Childhood Center has openings in the traditional half-day three and four-year-old preschool program and in the FREE Great Start Readiness Program for this fall. HELP WANTED—The Early Childhood Center is looking for a few great people who love Jesus and enjoy working with 2-4 year old children either part time or full time. Must be 18 years old. No experience necessary – we will train you.
