What’s Happening at Trinity—July 17, 2022

MEIJER SIMPLY GIVE BLESSES TRINITY AGAIN—Trinity’s Food Pantry is getting a helping hand for a second time this year through the Meijer Simply Give program. From July 3-Oct. 1, purchase the specially-marked Simply Give donations cards from the check-out lines at the store on Groesbeck. Or pick one up at the Welcome Center and take it to Meijer to have it counted in our total. Those gift cards will be given to Trinity’s Food Pantry to help us purchase food and other eligible items. In addition, Meijer will match the gifts donated to Trinity. Trinity’s Double Days are Saturday, Aug. 13 and Saturday, Sept. 10. On those days, Meijer doubles their donation for each card. For more information on the Simply Give program, contact Pastor Gary at or call 586-463-2921.

MUSIC FESTIVAL TICKETS AVAILABLE—The Grace Christian Music Festival is July 30 at Lake St. Clair Metropark/Metro Beach. The concert features a variety of Christian recording artists and is open to all ages. Tickets are now $30 (kids under 5 are free) and available from gracemusicfestival.com.

CURRENT SERMON SERIES—Throughout the summer, our sermon series will focus on Living the Faith. Join us as we use the gospel of Luke, and various readings from the Old Testament, to consider what it means to “live our faith.”

WHAT ARE YOUR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL KIDS UP TO THIS SUMMER?—Trinity Youth Group meets on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer. This is open to all rising 6th-12th graders. If you’ve completed 5th grade, come and join us! We meet at 6:30 p.m., with food available at 6 p.m. We hang out together, play games, and dig into God’s Word and talk about what it means for us in our lives today. During the summer our schedule is a bit different and we do go on outings and activities (canoeing, bike rides, walks to Miller Bros, etc) together on occasion, so be on the lookout for a schedule with summer activities and opportunities for Youth Group. If you have any questions or if you would like to help plan social or service activities please, contact Jeremy Ashley at

UPCOMING OUTDOOR WORSHIP—On the last Sunday of July (July 31) and August (Aug. 28) at the 11 a.m. service as we worship outside (weather permitting). Join us on the lawn just off Farmcrest. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets.

CHILDREN’S CHURCH—Children’s Church occurs during the 11 a.m. service, kids ages 4-8 can join Elizabeth Parrish in the Church Lounge during the sermon for a special message designed just for them. Children’s Church keeps families together for worship. Each week, there is a hand-out available. We post copies of these handouts or if you are interested in helping out, visit Trinityct.org/childrenschurch or contact Elizabeth at or 586-463-2921 ext. 108.

CHANGE IN CHILDREN’S CHURCH CHECK IN—While check-in isn't required for kids to attend Children’s Church, it is helpful to know who attended and for the kids to wear the name badges. You can stop at the Children’s Church table before church to check-in or you can use the Elexio app and select Children’s Church as the check in station. Your label will be available on the Children’s Church table. Due to a technical issue, you are no longer able to check-in unless you are in the building. We apologize for any inconvenience.

PARENTS OF RISING 6th, 7th AND 8th GRADERS—You should have received letters and emails regarding confirmation for next year. Sixth graders will begin the process in the fall. Seventh graders received information about Camp Concordia and eighth graders got information on Camp Arcadia. If you did not see an email or letter, contact the Church office at 586-463-2921.

SUMMER BAPTISM CLASSES—If you are interested in baptism at Trinity, Pastor-Elect Jeremy Ashley has scheduled a virtual baptism class on Tuesday, July 19 at 6:30 p.m. We talk about what baptism is, how we do it, why we do it, our role, your role and how this all plays out in the “real life” of your home. For more information, or to sign up, visit Trinityct.org/baptism.
