What’s Happening at Trinity—March 7, 2021

EASTER FOOD BASKETS—Trinity’s Pantry will distribute Easter food baskets to the needy. We will start taking names on March 8, distribution will be March 27. The food pantry needs the support of Trinity to make this happen. We need the following items: ham, boxed scalloped potatoes, sweet potatoes or yams, corn or green beans, rolls and butter, fruit pie or cake. If you would like to donate, bring the items to the church office or the school kitchen from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., or on Sunday mornings until March 25.

E3 CONTINUES THIS WEEK—E3 returns this Wednesday. If you participated last week, you should have received an email asking if you planned to return this week as well as whether or not you would have dinner with us. (This week we will have hot dogs, chili, cookies, water, milk and coffee) If you have not received or responded to that email, OR if you will be joining us for the first time this week, fill out the registration form at Trinityct.org/E3. You can also text E3 to 586-571-9996 and receive a registration form right away. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m.. After dinner there will be a childcare available for children three and under, preschool Bible class, elementary Bible class (kindergarten through fourth grade) First Communion (students in fifth and sixth grade), our typical youth experience for middle/high school students AND an adult Bible study!

SPECIAL CALL MEETING

The Principal Search committee is recommending Mr. Mark Brown to serve as the next principal of Trinity Lutheran School. Mark has served at Trinity as a teacher in the past and has spent several years teaching at Lutheran High North.

The congregation must vote on whether or not to call Mark Brown through a special meeting. Call meeting will take place on Sunday, March 14 after the 11 a.m. service. It will also be livestreamed for the benefit of those who cannot attend in person You will be able to vote from home as well as in person. Please continue to pray for the principal search process and that God would bring us the right person to lead our school.

BAPTISM PROGRAM—If you are interested in baptism at Trinity you can schedule a time to meet with Jeremy Ashley, for a “get to know you” conversation. We talk about what baptism is, how we do it, why we do it, our role, your role and how this all plays out in the “real life” of your home. Our time together can simply be for you to find out more about baptism or after we meet you may choose to schedule a baptism for your child! WEEKDAY BIBLE STUDIES AND CLASSES

NEW MONDAY EVENING LADIES BIBLE STUDY—New Monday Night Ladies Bible Study begins Monday, March 15. We will be studying "One in a Million" by Priscilla Shirer. It is about Joshua and Caleb, the only two out of two-million Hebrews to cross into the promisedland. We meet at 7 p.m. in the Church Lounge. Questions? WEDNESDAY MORNING MEN’S BIBLE STUDY meets Wednesday mornings at 6 a.m. in the Community Center. The topic changes regularly. Study guide, provided. Please bring your own breakfast/beverage. ONE MORE WEEK TO ORDER!!—Easter flower sales begin this weekend and run through March 14. Lilies are $11, mums are $12 and hydrangeas are $19. There will be no in-person sales. TRINITY CHRISTIAN COUNSELING – Due to increased need, we are pleased to announce the addition of a new clinician to join our counseling staff. Please welcome Trinity member, Amy Prosch, LMSW. She’ll bring her skills and training in social work to serve the counseling needs of our congregation and community. STEPHEN MINISTRY—Everyone hurts at some point in life and can benefit from a Stephen Minister. Stephen Ministers are specially trained members of the congregation who provide one-to-one Christian Care to people who need someone to talk to. All caring relationships are confidential, free, and provide emotional and spiritual support to those in need. HARP MISSION 2021— The HARP Mission is to provide adults and youth the opportunity to serve and be served in the way that Christ served us! Due to COVID, we were unable to make our yearly trip to Caldwell, Ohio to serve those in need; however, we WILL BE SERVING THIS YEAR from June 13-18. Please watch our announcements for our annual Stuff the Truck Event in May! We are always looking for people who have it in their heart to help. TRINITY QUILTERS—THANK YOU to all Trinity members and friends who continue to support Trinity Quilters for Lutheran World Relief. Many fabric squares are available for sewers on the quilt table in the foyer. Pick some up and return when you are done sewing. Your help is appreciated!

>SCHOOL & EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER 

SALLY BUSS RETIREMENT—After a long and dedicated career at Trinity Lutheran School, eighth grade teacher Sally Buss has decided to retire at the end of the school year. Plans are underway to honor her in some capacity as we approach the summer. In the meantime, Trinity is looking for an eighth grade teacher beginning with the 2021/22 school year. ENROLLMENT IS OPEN—Enrollment for the 2020-21 school year has open. The registration process begins at Trinityct.org/School. If you have any questions, please contact the school office. SUMMER CAMP IS COMING—Trinity’s summer camp program will return again this year, with new and exciting themes and activities planned for every week. Campers have options each day including cooking, arts and crafts, drama, in-door and outdoor sports, photography, games and more. Each day including age-appropriate devotions. Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with be-fore and after care available. Weekly rates are $111, with lunch and snack included. Find registration information at

BLOOD DRIVE IN MARCH—Trinity will host a blood drive for the American Red Cross on Thursday, March 18 from 1-7 p.m. in the Community Center. Trinity’s drives have continued throughout the pandemic and have been vital to the Red Cross. To sign up, go to RedCrossBlood.org and use code TrinityCT.

DIRECT YOUR CHOICE DOLLARS—Last year, Thrivent members’ Choice Dollars earned Trinity $8,597. Members’ 2020 Choice Dollars need to find a home before the end of March. Designate them to Trinity Lutheran Church, School and ECC. There are two ways two for directing Choice Dollars. Go to Thrivent.com/thriventchoice or call 800-847-4836 and say "Thrivent Choice" at the prompt. Please take a few minutes and designate Trinity. Designations must be made by March 31. Every little bit helps.

LHN INFO SESSION—Lutheran North is hosting Q&A / Academic Orientation on March 9. This event is for ALL 8th graders and families (registered or still undecided) interested in learning more about why Lutheran North is a great high school option in Macomb County and to learn more about academic scheduling for your incoming freshmen.
