What’s Happening at Trinity—Nov. 13, 2022

LAST CHANCE—PURCHASE A POINSETTIA—Poinsettia sales end today, Nov. 13! The plants help decorate our sanctuary for Christmas. They are $12 each. We will again have a self-serve table in the foyer. And a drop box for completed sales forms. Any questions, please call Kathy Conrad at 586-914-4512.

THANKSGIVING BASKETS—Trinity is collecting items for Thanksgiving baskets to distribute to those in need in the community. A list of needed items is available at the Welcome Center. Items can be brought to the Church Office, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items need to by dropped off by Tuesday, Nov. 15.

BETHLEHEM BREAKFAST—Buy your tickets today for the annual ladies-only Bethlehem Breakfast. Tickets are available for $20 beginning today before and after services. They are available in the foyer TODAY and next Sunday. Tickets are also available in the Church Office through Monday, Nov. 21. The theme this year is "A Christmas Invitation: Come to Bethlehem and See - RSVP." The Bethlehem Breakfast is Saturday, Dec. 3, 9 a.m. at the Italian American Cultural Society banquet center, 42843 Romeo Plank. THANKSGIVING WORSHIP—Thanksgiving worship is Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. There is no worship on Thanksgiving Day as we give our staff time to spend with their families.

During this series of messages, we’ll let Jesus answer for Himself as we consider Jesus’ “I AM” statement from John’s Gospel. CHILDREN’S CHURCH UPDATES—Children’s Church occurs during the 11 a.m. service, kids ages 4-8 meet in the Church Lounge during the sermon for a special message. Next weekend, Nov. 13 and Sunday, Feb. 12, we will also offer Children’s Church at the 9 a.m. service! We need volunteers to help out during Children's Church with classroom management and assist kids in the activities. There is no prep work and no teaching, just bring your willing hands and heart! E3 WRAPS UP FOR ADVENT—E3, our Wednesday evening experience, will pause for the Advent season. The last E3 of the fall is Wednesday, Nov. 16. We have several Advent activities planned for the end of November and December. Stay tuned for details.

YOUTH MEETINGS—Trinity’s middle and high school youth groups will continue to meet throughout Advent. While E3 is paused, our youth are welcome to come Wednesdays at 6 p.m. to the Youth Lounge for their meetings.

WEEKDAY BIBLE STUDIES AND CLASSES
NEW LADIES MONDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY—The Ladies Monday night Bible study group begins a four-week, Lifeway study, “The Wonder of Advent,” on hope, joy, peacea and love. WOMEN'S LEAGUE MEETING —The Women’s League meets Tuesday, Nov.16, 6:30-8 p.m. in the Church Lounge. We’ll collect gift cards to for Wellspring, Bethlehem Breakfast and Algonac Christmas Log Cabin tickets are available. BLUE CHRISTMAS—Blue Christmas is a worship service for those who have experienced loss in their life, whether it be a loved one, job, home or hope, and are seeking hope. TRINITY HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL—Trinity offers a chance to play basketball and engage in friendly competition with other local churches through MLYA or Michigan Lutheran Youth Athletics. Games are on weekends (Saturday mornings and Sundays early afternoons), and we typically have one to two practices a week (historically Sunday afternoons). TRINITY CHRISTIAN COUNSELING – We now offer Saturday sessions with Ernest Brown. A dedicated Christian and Marine veteran, he works with adolescents and adults in various settings. WELLSPRING COLLECTS GIFT CARDS—Wellspring, an organization that helps prevent homelessness, is collecting gift cards to help those it serves. These can be VISA gift cards, department store, grocery store or gas station gift cards. Major stores, such as Meijer, Walmart, Kroger and Target are preferred.
