What’s Happening at Trinity—Nov. 6, 2022

THANKSGIVING BASKETS—Trinity is collecting items for Thanksgiving baskets to distribute to those in need in the community. A list of needed items is available at the Welcome Center. Items can be brought to the Church Office, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you know anyone in need, have them sign up in the Church Office beginning Nov. 1, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Valid Macomb County identification is required.

BETHLEHEM BREAKFAST—Buy your tickets today for the annual ladies-only Bethlehem Breakfast. Tickets are available for $20 beginning today before and after services. They will also be available Nov. 13 and 20. Tickets are also available in the Church Office from now through Monday, Nov. 21. The theme this year is "A Christmas Invitation: Come to Bethlehem and See - RSVP." The Bethlehem Breakfast is Saturday, Dec. 3, 9 a.m. at the Italian American Cultural Society banquet center, 42843 Romeo Plank. PURCHASE A POINSETTIA—Poinsettia sales are underway. The plants help decorate our sanctuary for Christmas. They are $12 each. We will again have a self-serve table in the foyer. And a drop box for completed sales forms. Last day of sales is Sunday, Nov. 13. Any questions, please call Kathy Conrad at 586-914-4512.

COFFEE HOUR—The teens and parents who traveled to Texas for the National Youth Gathering this summer are hosting a special coffee hour between services this morning. Stop in for a tasty treat and ask them about their trip and what they learned. They want to thank you for your support and prayers.

CURRENT SERMON SERIESWho Do You Say, “I AM?—Long ago Jesus asked his followers this question. Some got it right and some got it wrong. During this series of messages, we’ll let Jesus answer for Himself as we consider Jesus’ “I AM” statement from John’s Gospel. CHILDREN’S CHURCH UPDATES—Children’s Church occurs during the 11 a.m. service, kids ages 4-8 meet in the Church Lounge during the sermon for a special message. Next weekend, Nov. 13 and Sunday, Feb. 12, we will also offer Children’s Church at the 9 a.m. service! We need volunteers to help out during Children's Church with classroom management and assist kids in the activities. There is no prep work and no teaching, just bring your willing hands and heart! E3 WRAPS UP FOR ADVENT—E3, our Wednesday evening experience, will pause for the Advent season. The last E3 of the fall is Wednesday, Nov. 16. We have several Advent activities planned for the end of November and December. Stay tuned for details.

YOUTH MEETINGS—Trinity’s middle and high school youth groups will continue to meet throughout Advent. While E3 is paused, our youth are welcome to come Wednesdays at 6 p.m. to the Youth Lounge for their meetings.

THANKSGIVING WORSHIP—Thanksgiving worship is Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. There is no worship on Thanksgiving Day as we give our staff time to spend with their families.

WEEKDAY BIBLE STUDIES AND CLASSES

SURVIVING THE HOLIDAYS—For anyone grieving the loss of a loved one, the holidays can feel insurmountable. We can help you find coping skills and address sensitive topics to help you work through grief this year. Surviving the Holidays is a one-day event sponsored by GriefShare and it will be facilitated by Trinity’s Parish Nurse Lisa Riviera. Join us on Sunday, Nov. 13 from 12:30-3 p.m. in the Church Lounge. ALTAR GUILD MEETING—The Altar Guild meets on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. in the Church Lounge. Anyone who is interested in joining the Altar Guild is invited to attend.

BLUE CHRISTMAS—Blue Christmas is a special worship service intended for those who have experienced a significant loss in their life, whether it be a loved one, job, home or hope, and are seeking the hope and comfort of Immanuel, God with Us. TRINITY HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL—Trinity offers a chance to play basketball and engage in friendly competition with other local churches through MLYA or Michigan Lutheran Youth Athletics. Games are on weekends (Saturday mornings and Sundays early afternoons), and we typically have one to two practices a week (historically Sunday afternoons).
