Transition Classroom

At Trinity, our licensed childcare program is fully accredited and earned a National Exemplary status.

Our program

We offer a full-day program for two-year-old children. The class size for the two-year-old program is no larger than 12 with a teacher and two assistants (1:4). Children are assigned a primary caregiver to ensure personal attention and nurture for each child.

Staff

All of our staff are committed Christian people with a heart for children. Each classroom has a lead teacher with a degree in Early Childhood Education. All staff are carefully screened and trained to provide excellence in education in a nurturing environment. We provide a 1:4 teacher/child ratio in our 2 year old programs.

Curriculum

We use Creative Curriculum in all of our Early Childhood Classrooms. The curriculum encourages one on one child directed interaction and play that is supported by caring teachers. We provide daily Jesus Time, focusing on a different Bible account each week that is appropriate for very young children. The two year old classroom begins to take on the look and feel of a Preschool Classroom. We offer daily songs, science, math, art, literacy and either daily or weekly gym and outdoor activities. Learning beginning social skills through child-directed play time is supported and encouraged. Although “play” is not listed as a “concept”, play is an important vehicle through which children learn. The curriculum is designed with short and long-range goals in mind for your child’s learning. We use the GOLD Assessment from Creative Curriculum and share with you about your child’s progress.

Transition Room

Classroom Description

At about age 2, children join the Transition room. This is a year-round, full-day program. We are closed only on the major holidays.

Two-year-old children are transitioning from infancy to preschool. This classroom takes on the look of a beginning preschool classroom and the day is structured to include child-directed and teacher-directed activities while still providing the personal relationships of a primary caregiver. Daily experiences include Jesus time, songs, literacy, science, art and math activities and rest time. A special emphasis is put on encouraging children to use the toilet. Children may remain in the Transition classroom until they are 3 and toilet trained. Snacks and lunch are included.

We provide:

  • A class size of 12
  • An adult/child ratio of 1:4
  • Primary caregivers for each two-year-old
