Gingerbread cookies take preschools on chase

November 14, 2025

Trinity's  traditional four-year-old preschoolers had quite an adventure recently—they spent part of their day chasing the Gingerbread Man all around the school! Just like in Jim Aylesworth’s classic story, their freshly baked gingerbread men “escaped” from the oven, leaving a trail of mystery, and maybe crumbs, behind them.

It all started early in the day when the students rolled out dough, cut out gingerbread shapes, and added their own creative decorations. After placing them in the oven, the class went about their day and returned later, only to discover the cookies were missing.

Determined to track them down, the kids set off on a school-wide hunt. They peeked into classrooms up and down the hallway, checked with the school office, asked the kitchen staff, and kept an eye out from crumbs are clues, but they had no luck.

A bit disappointed, they made their way back toward the ECC, stopping to ask the ECC front office staff if they had seen anything unusual. No clues there either.

But when they finally returned to their classroom, the mystery came to a sweet end—the gingerbread men had “magically” reappeared on plates, ready to enjoy.
