What’s Going on at Trinity —Aug. 9, 2026

ANNUAL MEETING—Trinity’s Annual Meeting is Sunday, Aug. 23 at 11:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. There will be one service at 10 a.m. that morning, followed by lunch at 11 a.m. and then the meeting. There will be activities for kids during the meeting. Members will receive information on voting topics and the proposed budget before the meeting via email.

PASTOR CHRIS INSTALLATION—On Sunday, Aug. 30, Trinity will install Pastor Chris Troxel as the Pastor of Spirtual Formation. The installation service takes place at 3 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Following the service, Trinity hosts a luncheon. In order to prepare, please provide a count of attendees at Trinityct.org.

PARENTS OF RISING 6th GRADERS—Sixth graders are eligible to begin the process of confirmation in the fall. A meeting is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 16 9:45 a.m. in the Chapel to get you started. Those older than sixth grade who need to begin the process are also welcome. SLOW DOWN SUMMER SOFTBALL POP UP—Take us out to the (soft)ball game as TCT1 and TCT2, Trinity's two women's softball teams go head-to-head on the field at Trinity on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 6:30 p.m. Bring your signs and pompoms to cheer on your favorite Trinity team!

TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY—The Tuesday morning Bible study meets to enjoy God's Word each week from 9:30-10:45 a.m. in the Church Lounge. Led by Mary Hartman and Lila Tirsell.

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY is on Wednesdays from 6-7 a.m. in the Church Lounge. Connect with over twenty Christian brothers for Bible study, conversation, and spiritual growth. Study guides and coffee provided.

OUTDOOR WORSHIP AUG. 31—Our final outdoor worship service for the summer is Monday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. Join us on the lawn off Farmcrest with your chairs and blankets for worship. It’s Bring a Neighbor Day so bring a friend. Hang around after church for an ice cream social.

SUBMIT YOUR PRAYER REQUESTS—We have an online form for submitting those requests. Go to Trinityct.org and click Submit a Prayer Request toward the bottom of the page. Complete the form and it will be sent to the appropriate prayer warriors.

BLESSING OF THE BACKPACKS—Trinity’s annual Blessing of the Backpacks will be held on Sunday, Aug. 23 (and Monday, Aug. 24). Students of all ages are invited to bring their backpacks for a special blessing and bracelet. Don’t forget there is only one service on Aug. 23 at 10 a.m., followed by the annual meeting.

LIFE WITH JESUS CLASS FORMING FOR FALL—Our new member class, Life with Jesus, is scheduled to begin the week of Sept. 20. Life with Jesus is for anyone who would like to attend, and is required of those considering membership at Trinity (but does not obligate you to become a member). Sign up through our website at Trinityct.org/LWJ. The website contains more information about the class as well as dates and times for the classes offered twice a week.

HUMAN CARE FAIR—Learn about all of our Human Care functions at a Human Care Fair on Sunday, Aug. 30 between services in the Commons. The Counseling Center, Stephen Ministry, Food Pantry and other human care functions will be present with information and ways use the services as well as how to get involved. HEADING TO COLLEGE? Just because you are away at school doesn't mean you aren't part of the Trinity family! We want to help you stay connected even if you are a few (hundred) miles away from home. Fill out the form at Trinityct.org/college by Sept. 7 to be included in mailings for the fall semester. BLOOD DRIVE SEPT. 3—Trinity hosts an American Red Cross blood drive on Thursday, Sept. 3 from noon-6 p.m. in the Community Center. The drives at Trinity have been vital to the Red Cross. To sign up, go to RedCrossBlood.org and use code TrinityCT.

SENIOR SERVICES—Senior Worship Services are mid-week, mid-day services are designed for those who prefer or need a daytime worship opportunity. The Senior Services are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m. through October with lunch served following the service. Mark your calendars for Aug. 19, Sept. 16 and Oct. 21 We are also looking for lunch sponsors. If your group or business would like to provide lunch for attendees, contact Lisa Riviera at

FOOD PANTRY NEEDS HYGIENE ITEMS—The Food Pantry is in need of hygiene items. This includes deodorant, hand soap, laundry detergent, body soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes and any other hygiene items. The Meijer Simply Give gift cards only allow us to buy food items and our supply of hygiene items is low. To donate, bring the items to the donation area near the Parish Nurse office.

FEED THOSE IN NEED-Trinity provides meals/casseroles for Family of God in Detroit on the second Wednesday. Volunteers are needed to cook or donate a dish. GOLF OUTING—It’s time to register for the 2nd Annual Spartan Golf Classic, Saturday, Aug. 22 at Hickory Hollow Golf Club. Register at https://events.golfstatus.com/event/spartan-golf-classic-2026. All proceeds support our athletic program with the purchase of new uniforms and keeping pay-to-play fees minimal. We had a great turnout last year and are looking forward to another fun day of golf and fellowship.

FIRST DAY 2026-27 SCHOOL YEAR—The first day of the 2026-27 school year at Trinity is Wednesday, Aug. 26.

PRESCHOOL IS ENROLLING STUDENTS—Trinity's Early Childhood Center is enrolling for the traditional half-day three and four-year-old preschool program, young 5s, and in the FREE Great Start Readiness Program for this fall. Find out more at Trinity’s website at Trinityct.org/ECC.

IS YOUR CHILD READY FOR YOUNG FIVES?—This fall, the Early Childhood Center begins offering Young Fives. This program is designed for children who would benefit from an additional year to grow socially, emotionally, and academically before entering kindergarten. The Young Fives program is open to children with a birthday of Sept. 1 to Dec. 1, 2021. Children must complete a preschool program prior to enrollment. The program runs Sept. 8, 2026 to June 4, 2027 and follows our grade school calendar, including scheduled breaks and time off. For more information, go to Trinityct.org/young5s.
