What’s Going on at Trinity —July 26, 2026

OUTDOOR WORSHIP ON MONDAY—Our outdoor services will be held on the last MONDAY of the month at 7 p.m. with dinner served before and activities held after. The next services are planned for July 27 and Aug. 31. For those of you who wish to attend both services, the messages are different. Church will begin at 7 p.m. on the lawn outside of the music room. Bring a chair, blanket and bug spray. On July 27, we will have Little Caesars Pizza available for purchase at $5/person or $20/family beginning at 6 p.m. in the Community Center. Following church, bring your own Super Soaker or water blaster to participate in our Wacky Water Pop Up on the fields!

GOLF OUTING—It’s time to register for the 2nd Annual Spartan Golf Classic, Saturday, Aug. 22 at Hickory Hollow Golf Club. Register at https://events.golfstatus.com/event/spartan-golf-classic-2026. All proceeds support our athletic program with the purchase of new uniforms and keeping pay-to-play fees minimal. If your child participates in our athletic program consider donating a raffle basket, or donating items to go into a raffle basket. We had a great turnout last year and are looking forward to another fun day of golf and fellowship.

WELCOME DAN POTOCZAK—On Sunday, Aug. 2, Trinity officially welcomes Dan Potoczak into the position of Campus Director of Children and Family Ministry. Join us between services to introduce yourselves and get to know Dan and his family. We will pray over Dan, thank the call committee for their work and welcome Dan and his family to the Trinity community.

SERMON FOCUS—Roamin’ Through Matthew—Pastor Mark Arendell serves as a guest preacher this weekend, with a sermon titled God’ Treasures. We are God’s treasures, bought with the blood of Jesus, loved, never forgotten, always forgiven and given eternal life. This week’s readings are Deuteronomy 7:6-9, Romans 8:28-39 and Matthew 13:44-52.

SUNDAY EVENING YOUTH GROUP— Once a month, throughout the summer, students can join us to grow in God’s Word, develop and deepen friendship and make plans to live out their faith in the world around us. We will have discussions and activities and plenty of fun. To learn more, join the Group Me. The code is on the posters near the Youth Lounge.

TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY—The Tuesday morning Bible study meets to enjoy God's Word each week from 9:30-10:45 a.m. in the Church Lounge. Led by Mary Hartman and Lila Tirsell.

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY is on Wednesdays from 6-7 a.m. in the Church Lounge. Connect with over twenty Christian brothers for Bible study, conversation, and spiritual growth. Study guides and coffee provided.

SATURDAY MORNING MEN’S STUDY—A Saturday morning men’s Bible study at 8 a.m. This group meets in the Church Lounge. For more information, contact Brian Lanko at

LIFE WITH JESUS CLASS FORMING FOR FALL—Our new member class, Life with Jesus, is scheduled to begin the week of Sept. 20. Life with Jesus is for anyone who would like to attend, and is required of those considering membership at Trinity (but does not obligate you to become a member). Sign up through our website at Trinityct.org/LWJ. The website contains more information about the class as well as dates and times for the classes offered twice a week.

SLOW DOWN SUMMER—Slow Down Summer is a new way for the Trinity family to enjoy simple summer moments together through casual pop-up gatherings all season long. We have plenty of ideas, but we are in need of hosts. Hosts need to be present throughout the event and serve as a representative of the church. Have an idea or want to host an event? • Wednesday, Aug. 12, Take us out to the (soft)ball game as TCT1 and TCT2, Trinity's two women's softball teams go head-to-head on the field at Trinity. Bring your signs and pompoms to cheer on your favorite Trinity team!

HEADING TO COLLEGE? Just because you are away at school doesn't mean you aren't part of the Trinity family! We want to help you stay connected even if you are a few (hundred) miles away from home. Fill out the form at Trinityct.org/college by Sept. 7 to be included in mailings for the fall semester. SENIOR SERVICES—Senior Worship Services are mid-week, mid-day services are designed for those who prefer or need a daytime worship opportunity. The Senior Services are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m. through October with lunch served following the service. Mark your calendars for Aug. 19, Sept. 16 and Oct. 21 We are also looking for lunch sponsors. If your group or business would like to provide lunch for attendees, contact Lisa Riviera at

FOOD PANTRY NEEDS HYGIENE ITEMS—The Food Pantry is in need of hygiene items. This includes deodorant, hand soap, laundry detergent, body soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes and any other hygiene items. The Meijer Simply Give gift cards only allow us to buy food items and our supply of hygiene items is low. To donate, bring the items to the donation area near the Parish Nurse office.

FEED THOSE IN NEED-Trinity provides meals/casseroles for Family of God in Detroit on the second Wednesday. Volunteers are needed to cook or donate a dish. >SCHOOL AND ECC

WELCOME JACKIE CHANEY AS ECC DIRECTOR—It is with great pleasure that we share the news that Jackie Chaney will be joining us as our new ECC Director beginning Aug. 5. She brings a wealth of experience in early childhood leadership and administration. Most importantly, Jackie is no stranger to Trinity. She previously served in Trinity's Early Childhood Center for 19 years, beginning as a receptionist and advancing to the role of Lead Teacher. We are excited to see how God will continue to bless our Early Childhood Center through Jackie's leadership.

FIRST DAY 2026-27 SCHOOL YEAR—The first day of the 2026-27 school year at Trinity is Wednesday, Aug. 26.

PRESCHOOL IS ENROLLING STUDENTS—Trinity's Early Childhood Center is enrolling for the traditional half-day three and four-year-old preschool program, young 5s, and in the FREE Great Start Readiness Program for this fall. Find out more at Trinity’s website at Trinityct.org/ECC.

IS YOUR CHILD READY FOR YOUNG FIVES?—This fall, the Early Childhood Center begins offering Young Fives. This program is designed for children who would benefit from an additional year to grow socially, emotionally, and academically before entering kindergarten. The Young Fives program is open to children with a birthday of Sept. 1 to Dec. 1, 2021. Children must complete a preschool program prior to enrollment. The program runs Sept. 8, 2026 to June 4, 2027 and follows our grade school calendar, including scheduled breaks and time off. For more information, go to Trinityct.org/young5s.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY—Thank you to everyone who took a tag from the giving tree, participated in our coloring contest or followed along as we celebrated Christmas in July. If you have items to bring in for the giving tree, boxes will be available under the tree until Aug. 2. After that, items can be dropped off in a box near the Parish Nurse office. Coloring contest sheets can be submitted to the drop box under the Connection Point bulletin board until Aug. 2. Winners will be announced Aug. 9.

UPDATE RECORDS—We plan to send out the annual budget in the next few weeks. Please make sure we have current information on file in Elexio. This includes e-mail, address, and a photo for Elexio. If you have trouble logging in, email or call the office at 586-463-2921.

SUMMER OFFICE SCHEDULE—The Church Office in-person summer hours are Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and Fridays from 8:30 a.m.- noon. Staff members are available on Friday afternoons by appointment.
