What’s Happening at Trinity—June 1, 2025

WALT BUL RETIREMENT—After 40 years of faithful and dedicated service to Trinity, Walt Bul is retiring as the facilities manager at Trinity. Today, we celebrate and thank him for his tireless work of maintaining Trinity’s facilities. Due to health concerns, Walt is unable to join in person at this time. If you would like to send him well wishes or notes of thanks, you can email or mail them to the church office.

STUFF THE TRUCK NEXT WEEK- Saturday, June 7, a truck will be in the parking lot from 2-5 p.m. for you to bring small appliances and household items to donate to HARP. We are taking boxed artificial Christmas trees and other Christmas items in good condition (no outdoor lights). All items must be boxed and ready for travel. To arrange for a pickup of large items, contact Karen Merriam 586-770-9482.

PASTOR BURGE INSTALLATION CELEBRATION—Pastor Ben Burge will be installed at Trinity on Sunday, June 22. There is one service that day at 10 a.m. Following that service, Trinity will mark his installation and welcome his family with a celebration. In order to make sure we have enough space and food for everyone, we ask you go to Trinityct.org and click on Pastor Burge Celebration to enter the number of attendees. It's a simple form, just two blanks, and no money required. If you are unable to complete this process online, please call the Church Office at 586-463-2921 and register your attendance with the office staff.

TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY—Meet to enjoy God's Word every Tuesday morning 9:30-10:45 a.m. Led by Mary Hartman and Lila Tirsell. Meets in the Church Lounge.

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY continues Wednesdays at 6 a.m. in the Church Lounge. Meet with over 20 other Christian men to study “Seven Letters to Seven Churches.” This study dives into Revelation 1-3 as we explore Jesus instructions and guidance for these early Christian gatherings of believers and for us today. Coffee and study guides provided.

SATURDAY MORNING MEN’S STUDY—A Saturday morning men’s Bible study at 8 a.m. This group meets in the Church Lounge. For more information, contact Brian Lanko at

YOUTH GROUP THROUGH THE SUMMER—The youth (6th-12th grade) will continue to meet throughout the summer. Pastor Jeremy has a variety of activities and gatherings planned. Stay tuned for information and be sure to subscribe to the Youth GroupMe through the QR code near the Youth Lounge door.

TICKET SALES END JUNE 18 FOR FAITH NIGHT AT JIMMY JOHN’S FIELD—Join Trinity on Faith Night at Jimmy John’s Field as the Westside Woolly Mammoths take on the Utica Unicorns on Friday, July 18 at 6:30 p.m. Purchase tickets to the game and a portion goes to Trinity’s Restore the Roof campaign. Buy your grandstand tickets from https://shorturl.at/so8i1 or from Trinityct.org. Tickets are $25 and include the game, plus one hot dog, bag of chips and a soft drink or water. Before the game starts, players and other community members share their faith-based experiences. There is a pre-game prayer on the field. Kids run the bases and a fireworks show after the game.

PAPER HUGS MEETS JUNE 5—The next meeting of Paper Hugs is Thursday, June 5 from 2-8 p.m. in the Church Lounge. Come when you can and leave when you must. No experience necessary. Bring a snack! For more information, call the Church Office at 586-463-2921.

SIMPLY GIVE IS BACK! From now to June 28, Trinity’s Food Pantry is getting a helping hand from Meijer! Shop the Clinton Township Meijer and purchase a $10 Simply Give gift card from the register and Trinity’s food pantry receives the $10 plus a match from Meijer that we can use on food and other eligible items. On Saturday, June 14, it is Double Match Day. For every $10 card purchased, Meijer contributes $20, bringing the total to $30 for the pantry! FEED THOSE IN NEED-Trinity provides meals/casseroles for Family of God in Detroit on the second Wednesday of each month. Volunteers are needed to donate a dish. Cash donations are also accepted at the Church Office or via Venmo to Cathy Essig (@CLEssig). Family of God serves meals to over 100 people in Detroit 6 days a week. WALKATHON THANK YOU! Trinity’s school was incredibly blessed with all the donations that came in from church members, friends and family – over $24,000 was raised for our school improvements! Special thanks to the volunteers who helped, Serra Brothers for donating the produce and Rose Pollard for providing the donut holes.

VALEDICTORIAN AND SALUTATORIAN— The Valedictorians and Salutatorian of the 2025 8th grade graduating class have been announced. The class valedictorian is Chase Marshall. The salutatorian is Ben Brothers. Congratulations to Chase, Ben and all of our Trinity graduates!

SUMMER CAMP WISH LIST—The Summer Camp program was blessed by donations from our congregation last summer. We put together an Amazon Wish List again this year. IT’S TIME TO THINK ABOUT PRESCHOOL—Trinity's Early Childhood Center is now enrolling for the traditional half-day three and four-year-old preschool program and in the FREE Great Start Readiness Program for this fall. PASTOR GARY’S RETIREMENT TICKETS—Today is the last day to purchase tickets for Pastor Gary’s retirement party. On June 15, we mark Pastor Gary’s final worship service before he retires. Following the service, a celebration is noon to 3 p.m. at the Italian American Cultural Center. Tickets are $25/adults, $15/ages 5-12 and children under 5 are free.
