What’s Happening at Trinity—June 30, 2024

SUPPORT LUTHERAN SPECIAL ED—Lutheran Special Education Ministries (LSEM) is having its 19th Annual Golf Outing on Monday, Sept. 16 and you’re invited! Play a round of golf and raise funds for children who have learning needs in Christian schools here in southwest Michigan and across the country. Golf, cart, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included in your ticket price. There will be plenty of fun games to play as we fundraise for these kids. Register your team today or sponsor the event. Together we can help these children grow in learning and love of God. Visit www.luthsped.org/2024-lsem-golf-outing for more information.

LIFE WITH JESUS CLASS FORMING FOR FALL—Whether you are interested in exploring membership at Trinity or want to learn more about Christianity, this 10-week class is for you. We will explore Christ’s gracious invitation of a personal relationship with God and the Spirit-filled life of following Christ as his disciple. Life with Jesus is for anyone who would like to attend, and is required of those considering membership at Trinity (but does not obligate you to become a member). This session of Life with Jesus is led by Pastor Gary. Life with Jesus is scheduled for Thursdays beginning Sept. 19 in the Church Lounge. The staffed nursery is available for those who need it. Online sign up is available at Trinityct.org/LWJ.

CHURCH OFFICE CLOSED—The Church Office will be closed on July 4. Regular hours resume on Friday, July 5. If you need pastoral care on Thursday, July 4, call the Church Office at 586-463-2921 and leave a message on the emergency line. Someone will return your call.

MEIJER SIMPLY GIVE EXTENDED—Help Trinity’s pantry with a boost from Meijer. The Simply Give campaign benefitting Trinity has been extended until Sept. 24. The Simply Give program is truly simple. Pick up one of the Simply Give cards in the register lanes at the Meijer on Groesbeck. Scan them when you pay. They can be purchased in $10 increments. For every card purchased, Meijer donates an additional $10, meaning your $10 earns Trinity $20. We have two double match days-Saturday, Aug. 17 and Saturday, Sept. 14. For every $10 Simply Give card purchased, Meijer contributes $20, bringing the total to $30 for Trinity’s food pantry. At the end of the campaign, Trinity receives the total donation in the form of gift cards that can be used to purchase food and other eligible items. For more information, contact Pastor Gary at  or call 586-463-2921.

FAMILY OF GOD DINNERS-Trinity provides meals/casseroles for Family of God in Detroit once a month. Volunteers are needed to donate a dish. If you’d like to contribute financially, leave a donation in the Church Office or Venmo Cathy Essig (@CLEssig). To schedule a dish donation, call Karen Langreet at 586-445-2460.

BECOME A STEPHEN MINISTER—Do you have the heart of an empath? Do your friends and family come to you when they need to talk? Are your ears considered "Listening Ears"? Are you the one at work that everyone comes to when they are facing an issue or need advice? If you answered YES to any of these questions, you may just be a Stephen Minister at heart! Stephen Ministers are trained laypersons in our congregation that provide one-to-one care to those experiencing a difficult time in life. They bring Christ's love and care to people during a time of need such as divorce, job loss, grief, illness, or relocation. Contact Amy Gusho at   for more information about how you can serve.
