What’s Happening at Trinity—June 9, 2024
MEIJER SIMPLY GIVE DOUBLE DAYS—Help Trinity’s pantry with a boost from Meijer. Trinity’s Simply Give Double Day is Saturday, June 15. Purchase the specially-marked Simply Give donations cards from the check-out lines at the store on Groesbeck on June 15 and Meijer doubles their donation. For every $10 Simply Give card purchased, Meijer contributes $20, bringing the total to $30. At the end of the campaign, the gift cards will be given to Trinity’s Food Pantry to help us purchase food and other eligible items. Meijer matches the gifts donated to Trinity. ALTAR GUILD MEETING—Have you ever considered joining the altar guild? Now is the time! One of the group’s quarterly meetings is Tuesday, June 11 at 6 p.m. in Meeting Room 4. BAPTISM CLASSES SCHEDULED—If you are interested in baptism at Trinity, Pastor Jeremy has several upcoming virtual baptism classes—June 25 and Aug. 13, Sept. 23, Nov. 12 at 6:30 p.m. We talk about what baptism is, how we do it, why we do it, our role, your role and how this all plays out in the “real life” of your home. SUMMER SERVICE TIME CHANGE—Throughout the summer, Trinity offers Monday evening worship on at 7 p.m. Our Saturday evening services returns after Labor Day.

On the last Sunday of the summer months, (June 30, July 28 and Aug. 25) our 11 a.m. worship services will be held outside, weather permitting. Join us on the lawn, just off Farmcrest as we praise God outside. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets!
PRAYER CARDS AVAILABLE—Join us in united prayer for our church, our community, and our call process for a Senior Pastor. A list of daily prayers, written by members of Trinity, is available at the Welcome Center. Pick one up and consider making these prayers part of your daily routine, and join us as we seek God’s will and continue in pursuit of being fully devoted followers of Jesus. YOUTH GROUP—The middle and high school youth groups will continue to meet throughout the summer. The group will regularly meet on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Youth Lounge. Pizza will be served. SUMMER READING CHALLENGE—CPH Reads is a summer reading program that challenges participants to read books about Jesus and find hope in God’s Word. All ages are invited to participate in the program, which starts May 31 and concludes on Aug. 9, and all who complete the challenge are eligible for a chance to win prizes! DANIEL G. EVOLA MEMORIAL GOLF EVENT—The family of Daniel Evola, late husband of Trinity's K-4 Spanish teacher, Julia Evola and father to Emmy (1st) and Lily (Pre-K 3) invite you to participate in their 2nd annual Daniel G. Evola Memorial Foundation Golf Tournament. The tournament is Saturday, Sept. 7 at Oak Ridge Golf Course. Proceeds from the tournament will be donated to Trinity Lutheran School, The Macomb ISD Education Project for Homeless Children & Youth, and an education fund for Emmy and Lily. STEPHEN MINISTRY—Everyone hurts at some point in life and can benefit from a Stephen Minister. Stephen Ministers are specially trained members of the congregation who provide one-to-one Christian Care to people who need someone to talk to. All caring relationships are confidential, free, and provide emotional and spiritual support to those in need. FAMILY OF GOD DINNERS-Trinity provides meals/casseroles for Family of God in Detroit once a month. Volunteers are needed to help donate a dish. CAN YOU HELP SUMMER CAMP?—Trinity Summer Camp is about to begin! Our building is going to be FULL of kids who are excited to play, learn and grow. Some of our kids know and love Jesus. Some of our kids only hear about Jesus when they are at Summer Camp. And some of our kids have never heard of Jesus before. God has given us an incredible opportunity to share Jesus each and every day in so many ways! We would like to invite you come alongside us as we embark on this mission! Here’s how you can help:
- Pray — Pray for our kids, volunteers, cabin leaders, counselors in training, administrative staff and the ECC office.
- Give — We need a lot of supplies to for crafts, science experiments, cooking and activities. If you are looking for an additional way to contribute, we have created an Amazon Wishlist where we have added items we will need to do all of our activities.
