What’s Happening at Trinity—May 15, 2022

CHILDREN’S CHURCH RETURNS SOON—Children’s Church during the 11 a.m. worship services on June 5. Children’s Church is for kids ages 4-8 to hear a message that connects with them, while still keeping families together for worship. Two adult volunteers are needed each week to assist with classroom management and activities. If you are interested in helping, go to Trinityct.org/childrenschurch.  CAMP COUNSELORS WANTED—Looking for a summer job? Trinity needs camp counselors to work from June 13 - August 19. Counselors work in pairs with up to 20 children and a volunteer counselor assistant to lead kids through their days. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday with no weekends. HARP STUFF A TRUCK COMING IN MAY—Do you have gently used home items that might help our team traveling with the HARP mission to Caldwell, Ohio June 12-17 to serve the needy. From May 20-22, the truck will be parked in the church lot for collection. Anyone interested in requesting a Thrivent Action Team card for the HARP Mission Team, contact Gwen Richard at (440) 309-8255.

CHURCH SURVEY--To ALL members and guests worshiping today—if you did NOT fill out a survey in the last three weeks, please, fill out the paper form (located at the end of your row near the aisle) for each member of your family in worship today and return it to an usher before you leave. This demographic survey is a first step in the process of calling a new Senior pastor as we put together a “pastor profile.” For more information about the form of the process, contact the Church Office at 586-463-2921.

NEW SERMON SERIES—More Easter Please! Everyone loves celebrating the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday. Unfortunately, this Easter faith, hope, and joy can be easily lost in the day-to-day activities of our lives. Join us the next few weeks as we get “more Easter” and continue to focus on the resurrection of Jesus and what it means for us.

NEW BAPTISM MEETING DATES SCHEDULED—If you are interested in baptism at Trinity, Vicar Jeremy Ashley has scheduled two dates for a Zoom baptism class. One class is scheduled for Tuesday, May 24 at 6:30 p.m. and the other is scheduled for Tuesday, July 19 at 6:30 p.m. We talk about what baptism is, how we do it, why we do it, our role, your role and how this all plays out in the “real life” of your home. WOMEN’S LEAGUE FUNDRAISER LAST DAY– Today is the last day to get your flowers at plants at Deneweth Garden Center and help Trinity’s Women’s League in the process. Deneweth Garden Center has partnered with Trinity Women’s League to support our charity fundraiser. On May 14 and 15, Women’s League will receive 20% of your purchase price if you mention Trinity Lutheran Women’s League and sign up for the coupons Deneweth offers. GRIEF SHARE GROUP STARTS IN JUNE—A new Grief Share group starts at Trinity on June 8 and run through August 31. The class meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Church Lounge. TRINITY QUILTERS MEET MAY 17—Trinity’s quilters continue to put together quilts to send to Lutheran World Relief. Currently LWR is sending quilts to Ukrainians in need. LWML PRAYER SERVICE—The Macomb South Zone of LWML holds the annual prayer service at St. John, Fraser on May 21, at 10 a.m. All women are welcome to attend. SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS– Lutheran North offers summer athletic camps. Camps include soccer, football, wrestling, golf, volleyball, basketball, sideline cheer, dance and track and field. Camps are open to various ages and are coached by LHN coaches, teacher sand student. The cost is $75 per camp, with a 10 percent discount for multiple camps.
