You can also find these devotions on iTunes or Google Play by searching for Trinity Lutheran CrossTalk.

BLUE CHRISTMAS—Blue Christmas is intended for those who have experienced a significant loss in their life, whether it be a loved one, job, home or hope, and are seeking the comfort of Immanuel, God with Us. Anyone is welcome. If you know someone who could benefit from this service, invite them. It will be held Monday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. For information or to sign up, call the Church Office at 586-463-2921 or

TRINITY HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL—Trinity offers a chance to play basketball and engage in friendly competition with other local churches through MLYA or Michigan Lutheran Youth Athletics. Games are on weekends (Saturday mornings and Sundays early afternoons), and we typically have one to two practices a week (historically Sunday afternoons). We are hoping to begin practices mid-November with opening games the first week in January. Games are played at Immanuel. For more info, contact Jay Guzman at or 586-744-3962.

MCREST IS COMING—This year, for the first time, Trinity will be hosting MCREST the week AFTER Christmas, instead of Christmas Week. This year is different as the women and children will be at the shelter in Mount Clemens, while about 30 men will reside at Trinity. We need to arrange for meals at the shelter as well as at Trinity. Additionally, we need people at Trinity to assist with set-up and take down, breakfast, daily checkout, transportation, laundry, lunch, hospitality and overnights. The BIG BOARD is up in the church foyer. Consider where you can help and sign up. If you have questions, contact Parish Nurse Lisa Riviera at or call 586-463-2921.

GIVING TREE FOR MCREST—During Trinity’s MCREST week, many supplies are needed to provide for the needs of our guests. A Christmas tree is located next to the volunteer board in the church foyer. There are tags on the tree indicating the items we need. Take a tag and bring the items back to church. Leave them under the tree or stop in the church office to drop them off. For more information, contact Parish Nurse Lisa Riviera at  or call the Church Office at 586-463-2921.

BLOOD DRIVE—The next Trinity blood drive will be held on TUESDAY, Dec. 13 from 1-7 p.m. in the Community Center. Sign up online at or call the Parish Nurse Lisa Riviera at 586-213-1339 or email

HELP FAMILY OF GOD— Trinity provides meals for our mission, Family of God in Detroit, on the second Wednesday of each month. We need volunteers to provide a casserole/meal. If you can help, call Karen Langreet at 586-445-2460 or 586-291-6273. For more info on Family of God, visit

SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM—The school’s Christmas program, “CAKE-Christmas Acts of Kindness Experiment” is Wednesday, Dec. 16. The dress rehearsal at 10 a.m. is open to those who want to watch earlier in the day. There is also a performance at 7 p.m. The evening show will be livestreamed from For more information, contact the school office at 586-468-8511.

RAISE RIGHT PROGRAM FOR GIFT CARDS—Do you frequently visit the same businesses (like Meijer or Target)? Are you taking a trip soon (Delta Airlines or Best Western)? Maybe you eat lunch regularly at the same place (Subway, Chipotle, Panera)? Or gas up at the same station every week (Speedway, Marathon)? By purchasing gift cards through the Raise Right program, you can earn money towards your school tuition and help Trinity in the process. Over 400 vendors participate and it’s as easy as ordering online. For information, contact Rachel Nyboer in the school office at , or visit

LUTHERAN WITNESS SUBSCRIPTION—It’s time to renew your Lutheran Witness subscription! The Lutheran Witness is the official periodical of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod and is published 11 times a year. Subscriptions are $12 per year through Trinity. Renewals are due to the Church Office by Nov. 30. Make checks payable to Trinity Lutheran Church.

SENIOR PASTOR SEARCH UPDATE—Trinity Lutheran Church is seeking a new Senior Pastor to provide leadership of the mission and vision of our congregation toward a vibrant future. The candidate must have a passion for the truth of scripture, diversity in worship styles, reaching unbelievers, and in moving people into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Focus areas will include developing lay leaders, as well as teaching and equipping the congregation to live out their faith and Christian witness in their church, home, and community through meaningful service and relationships. The Senior Pastor will serve alongside a large staff that fulfills the mission of the church through the ministries of the church, school, and Early Childhood Center in a cohesive manner. Administrative and financial oversight of all areas of ministry with long-range planning will be key components of the Senior Pastor’s role. If you know an LCMS pastor that fits this criteria and would like to nominate them for this position, please pick up a nomination form in the Church Office. They are available on the counter. For more information, contact the search committee chair Scott Phillips at Other search committee members include Amanda Grant, Doreen Gierach, Wendy Sowders, Glen Auten, Julian Petzold and Randy Pagel.
