What’s Happening at Trinity—Oct. 30, 2022

PASTOR PROFILE PRESENTATION—Rev. Robert Kasper from the Michigan District Office will be at Trinity on Thursday, Nov.3 at 7 p.m. in the chapel to present his pastor profile as part of our search process for a new senior pastor. Based on employee and leader input and the surveys, he has developed a candidate profile for someone who might best serve Trinity. Join us to hear his presentation and help shape the profile for the search committee to begin reviewing candidates.

THANKSGIVING BASKETS—Trinity is collecting items for Thanksgiving baskets to distribute to those in need in the community. A list of needed items is available at the Welcome Center. Items can be brought to the Church Office, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you know anyone in need, have them sign up in the Church Office beginning Nov. 1, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Valid Macomb County identification is required.

CONFIRMATION— Today at 11 a.m., 18 of our young people will participate in the Rite of Confirmation. Please pray for this next generation of Christ followers.

ALL SAINTS DAY—The weekend of Nov. 5/6, we remember, and give thanks to God, for our loved ones who have died in faith and are in heaven as part of the Church Triumphant! If you have a loved that died in faith in the past year (Nov. 1, 2021 -Oct. 30, 2022) and you would like their name included in the list of the Faithful Departed, contact the church office at 586-463-2921 or by TOMORROW. Please contact us even if the funeral was held at Trinity. 

CURRENT SERMON SERIESWho Do You Say, “I AM?—Long ago Jesus asked his followers this question. Some got it right and some got it wrong. During this series of messages, we’ll let Jesus answer for Himself as we consider Jesus’ “I AM” statement from John’s Gospel. Following along throughout the fall as we explore various times Jesus said “I AM.”

CHILDREN’S CHURCH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED—Children’s Church occurs during the 11 a.m. service, kids ages 4-8 meet in the Church Lounge during the sermon for a special message. We need volunteers to help out during Children's Church with classroom management and assist kids in the activities as we work to create a safe and fun environment to grow together! ALTAR GUILD MEETING—The Altar Guild meets on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. in the Church Lounge. Anyone who is interested in joining the Altar Guild is invited to attend.

WOMEN’S LEAGUE NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT! Women’s League traditionally held a Christmas Cookie Walk as a fundraiser. Now, in it's place, we're participating in Trinity’s Craft Show. We’ll be selling chili and soup mixes, jams and jellies, and dog treats, but also an assortment of new items! What are they? You’ll have to stop by our booth between 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5 to see! We will be selling any remaining items before and after services that weekend. SURVIVING THE HOLIDAYS—For anyone grieving the loss of a loved one, the holidays can feel insurmountable. We can help you find coping skills and address sensitive topics to help you work through grief this year. Surviving the Holidays is a one-day event sponsored by GriefShare and it will be facilitated by Trinity’s Parish Nurse Lisa Riviera.
