RED LETTER CHALLENGE—Trinity is in week 3 of the 40-day Red Letter Challenge. This week focuses on Serving.
RED LETTER CHALLENGE SERVING PROJECT—This year’s kindergarten class will participate in the annual Thankfulness Drive to benefit Macomb Foster Closet. Students will gather materials to help children right here in our community. Items needed include diapers (especially bigger toddler sizes), new socks, underwear, pajamas, and hygiene items. E3 CONTINUES THIS WEEK—Our Wednesday evening programs for the whole family continues Wednesday. We have free dinner at 6 p.m. followed by our group meet ups at 6:30 p.m. There is a group for adults, youth group, a preteen group, elementary school and a nursery for those under 5. YOUTH GATHERING 2025—If you are currently in 8th through 12th grade - we invite you to an informational meeting for the LCMS National Youth Gathering TODAY Sunday, Oct. 6 at 10:10 a.m. in the Youth Lounge. The National Youth Gathering is an event held every three years and is an opportunity for youth to gather for opportunities to learn, play, serve, grow and worship together. BETHLEHEM BREAKFAST—Ladies, mark your calendars now for Saturday, Dec. 7 and plan who you would like to invite. Our theme is "The Christmas Lamb of God" and the event will be held at the Italian-American Cultural Center, with a full breakfast served at 9 a.m. Tickets are $25. A table of 10 can be reserved for $250. Tickets will be available in the church office beginning Nov. 1, and Sundays, Nov. 10,17,24. VOICES IN PRAISE REHEARSALS—The adult choir, Voices in Praise, meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the choir room for rehearsals. The choir is made up of members from Trinity as well as St. Luke Clinton Township. This choir performs regularly at Trinity’s 9 a.m. worship and at services at St. Luke. FAMILY OF GOD DINNERS—Trinity provides meals to Family of God in Detroit on the second Wednesday of each month. Volunteers are needed to donate a dish. PRESCHOOL OPENINGS-- It’s not too late to enroll in preschool! Trinity's Early Childhood Center has openings in the traditional half-day three and four-year-old preschool program and in the FREE Great Start Readiness Program for this fall. TRINITY TRUNK OR TREAT Trinity will again host a parent-organized Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, Oct. 26. Students are welcome to dress up and visit the trunks in the parking lot where treats will be passed out. Trunks should be family-friendly, not scary or decorated in a way that might frighten younger children. Set up for Trunks will be from 6-7 p.m. (after 5 p.m. church) with trick-or-treating from 7-8 p.m. Food trucks will be there and available at 6:15 p.m. This is a rain or shine event. LEAVES NEEDED—Shredded leaves are garden gold! Boost Trinity's garden quality by donating leaves shredded by lawnmower or other means this fall. Spread at 3-5" deep, winter and earthworms break them down to improve the soil, reduce weeds all next year and retain moisture. Our goal is at least 60 kraft or large plastic bags full, set behind the Corner Garden at Harper and Farmcrest. No pine needles or black walnut please.
8TH GRADERS CHECK OUT LHN—Future Mustang Day is an opportunity for 8th graders and parents to learn more about Lutheran North. The experience will begins at 9 a.m. in the main gymnasium. Students will be broken out into groups and rotate through sectionals. The morning will conclude roughly around 11:45 with a pizza lunch provided to our 8th grade guests. HELP FOR MARRIAGES--Have you thought about separation or divorce? Retrouvaille can help. Retrouvaille is a weekend experience combined with a series of follow up sessions, that provides the tools to help put your marriage in order again. The retreat will give you the opportunity to rediscover each other and examine your lives together in a new and positive way. VOLUNTEER NEEDED ONCE A MONTH—Trinity is looking for a volunteer to be in the building while the Friendship Club meets. This is a group for teens on the Autism spectrum and their parents to get together for fun, food and camaraderie. The group meets the second Saturday of each month from 7-10 p.m., September-May. POTATO PANCAKE SUPPER—St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Richmond brings back the Potato Pancake Supper on Sunday, Oct. 20 from 3-6 p.m. The menu includes potato pancakes, bologna, applesauce, sour cream, dessert and beverages.
