What’s Happening at Trinity—Sept. 14, 2025
E3 KICKOFF—E3, our Wednesday evening gatherings, will resume Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m. Life with Jesus is available for those who want to become members, but the new format makes it engaging for all adults. The youth group meets in the Youth Lounge, a children’s program and the nursery will also be available. Programming begins at 6:30 p.m. No dinner will be served prior to E3. Watch for more information.
LIFE WITH JESUS CLASS—This fall, the new member series takes place over 4 weeks, in which you may choose between Sunday at 12:30 p.m. OR Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. each week. These classes are required for official Trinity membership, but taking the classes does not obligate you to become a member. Classes begin Sunday, Sept. 14 or the coordinating Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m. Both classes are held in the Community Center. New Member Weekend is Oct. 18/19 at all services. JOIN THE HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE—Interested in building relationships within the congregation? You can do that through the Hospitality Committee! We are planning an organizational meeting next week. We’re rallying groups to host weekly coffee hour between services. Join us Sunday, Sept. 14 at 10:15 a.m. in the Church Lounge. This meeting is to help define goals, priorities, and roles within the group. We are also looking for volunteers for weekend snack deliveries. NEW SERMON SERIES—We explore our Mission and the ideas behind Engage God, Engage God’s People, and Engage the World. We also look ahead to October when we will begin a discernment process as a church about the Vision that God is giving us for the next 3 years.
NEW BIBLE STUDY AND CHILDREN’S PROGRAM—Beginning Sunday, Sept. 21, a new adult Bible study begins between services from 10:10 to 10:50 a.m. It will focus on the scriptures used in the service each week. While the adults are in Bible study, there is a place for children as well. A children’s group meets during the same timeframe. The youth (6th-12th grade) group Bible study also meets Sundays between services in the Youth Lounge. Locations will be published next week.
MONDAY NIGHT LADIES BIBLE STUDY meets Mondays at 6:30 p.m. in the Church Lounge. “God of Deliverance” by Jen Wilkin is a 10-week study of Exodus 1—8, the stories of Moses, and his call to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY—Meet to enjoy God's Word every Tuesday morning 9:30-10:45 a.m. Led by Mary Hartman and Lila Tirsell. Meets in the Church Lounge.
MEN’S BIBLE STUDY—The Wednesday morning men’s Bible study is focusing on the nine-session study covering questions Old Testament characters heard from God, such as when he asked "Where are you?" of Adam and Eve. Through the questions, we are guided inward to reflect on the same questions in our own lives. The men’s Bible study meets Wednesday mornings at 6 a.m. in the Church Lounge. Study materials and coffee provided.
WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY—Women’s Bible study meets Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m. in the Church Lounge. The group is using “Acts: The Spread of the Gospel” by John MacArthur. For more information, contact study leader Linda Gawinski at 586-431-1147.

>ENGAGE GOD’S PEOPLE
WOMEN’S LEAGUE IS STARTING A NEW YEAR when we meet Tuesday, Sept. 16, 6:30 p.m., Church Lounge. If you’d like to make some new friends, and participate in activities that benefit missions, non-profits and families in need, while only devoting 1½-2 hours permonth of your time, please come visit us! We meet 10 months of the year, September through June. Three of the meetings are social gatherings, two of the remaining seven include a guest speaker and there are two optional off-site “field trips.” We like to eat so there’s always snacks or a potluck. MAKE MUSIC WITH TRINITY—Trinity Lutheran Church offers many opportunities for those with a passion for worship arts to participate in Music Ministry. Through choirs, ensembles, and instrumental groups, the music program not only enriches Trinity’s worship services but also provides a meaningful way to honor God by using the talents and gifts He has provided. - † Instrumentalists - Brass, woodwinds, strings and other instruments enhance regular worship as well a special services such as those during Holy Week and Christmas.
>ENGAGE THE WORLD
FOOD PANTRY—Trinity’s food pantry is in need of non-perishable items such as laundry detergent and hygiene supplies. These items help us care for more than a dozen families in need in the community throughout the week. Donations can be made weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays and Mondays before worship time.
WELLSPRING LUTHERAN AUXILIARY first fall meeting is Sept. 23 at St. Peter, 6745 Palms Rd., Fair Haven. This is a Back-to-School Shower so bring donations of school supplies and we will have mystery speaker. Lunch is served at noon for a $5 donation. Everyone is invited to attend.
FEED THOSE IN NEED-Trinity provides meals/casseroles for Family of God in Detroit on the second Wednesday of each month. Volunteers are needed to donate a dish. Cash donations are also accepted at the Church Office or via Venmo to Cathy Essig (@CLEssig). Family of God serves meals to over 100 people in Detroit 6 days a week. GOOD SHEPHERD COALITION DINNER AND AUCTION—The Good Shepherd Coalition (GSC) hosts the 13th Annual Dinner & Auction on Friday, Sept. 19 at the Vintage House in Fraser. The event features an array auction items, unique pairings, and exciting experiences. The dinner and auctions supports support GSC’s mission to support those in greatest need throughout Macomb County. Tickets are $50 per individual and $400 a table.
