What’s Happening at Trinity—Sept. 17, 2023

QUILTS IN THE FOYER—This week, several quilts made by Trinity’s quilters are showcased in the church foyer. The Trinity quilters meet once a month to work on quilts, which are then sent to Lutheran World Relief for distribution to those around the world who have experienced a war or natural disasters that have forced them from their homes. If you are interested in learning more about Trinity’s quilt program, ask a representative in the foyer, or visit their meeting on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 9:30 a.m. in the Community Center. No experience is necessary. Bring a lunch and stay afterward to connect with fellow quilters. For more information, contact Lynda Gustke at 586-463-9804.

WE HAVE YOUR WEDNESDAY EVENINGS PLANNED—E3, our Wednesday evening gathering and activities for all ages, continues throughout the spring! Free pizza is served at 6 p.m. followed by the meet ups at 6:30 p.m. There is something for everyone in the family. We have two pastor-led Bible studies, senior high and junior high youth groups, a spot for preteens, a class for preschool through grade 3 and a nursery for babies. For more information, go to Trinityct.org/E3 or call the Church Office at 586-463-2921.

LOOKING FOR A NEW WAY TO GET INVOLVED? CHECK OUT WOMEN’S LEAGUE—The Women’s League hosts an open house on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Church Lounge. This group provides the opportunity for women to meet, talk, bond, laugh, play games, eat, and enjoy speakers while belonging to a group that shares God's love and blesses others through fundraisers. The Sept. 19 gathering is a great chance to try it out.

  • It's the first meeting of the year, so you'll learn what we have coming up for the next 10 months.
  • There is no commitment to join.
  • None sits alone.
  • Membership requires a minimal time commitment: We meet once/month, on the third Tuesday, from 6:30-8 p.m. (6 p.m. if the meeting starts with a potluck)
  • Only seven of our ten meetings are business meetings; the other are celebrations!
  • The meetings are well organized, yet informal enough to encourage discussion
  • You only need to worship at Trinity to join WL; you don't have to be a Trinity member.

If you have any questions before the meeting, stop by the WL Coffee Hour on Sept. 17 or contact Debbie Graham-Large, WL President, at (313) 318-6513.
