Middle schoolers take on cake decorating

March 02, 2023

Karen Pitters may have retired as director of the Early Childhood Center, but she's come back to Trinity to share one of her favorite hobbies with our middle school students. The after-school cake and cookie decorating a class meets once a week and the students participating learn about the tools and skills needed to produce beauitfully decorated baked goods.

Pitters limited the group to 10 students from grades 6-8. This gives her a chance to make sure each child understands the process and work through any struggles. The after-school club was offered to the students for free.

The students have decorated cupcakes and cookies using frosting and piping it on. Pitters taught them to create designs and shapes as well.

This was the first time the cake and cookie decorating class was offered to Trinity students.
