Sixth grade camp tradition continues

Trinity sixth graders traveled to Attica, Mich. for the annual outdoor education trip to the Michigan Christian Youth Camp help Oct. 7-9.

Students participated in activities like fishing, archery, candle-making, learning about plants and maps and navigation. The activities were designed to be educational, but also to foster teamwork among the students.

Sixth grade teacher Cheryl Chuhran said the experience is important for the middle schoolers.

"They get to know each other and themselves. In addition, they learn to support one another, which carries over to their life in the classroom," said Churhan.

Trinity has been taking kids on the oudoor education trip for decades, and it's often something the sixth graders look forward to doing.
