What’s Going on at Trinity —Aug. 30, 2026
PASTOR CHRIS INSTALLATION—On Sunday, Aug. 30, at 3 p.m., Trinity will install Pastor Chris Troxel as the Pastor of Spiritual Formation. If you are unable to attend the service, it will be livestreamed at Trinityct.org.
OUTDOOR WORSHIP AUG. 31—Our final outdoor worship service for the summer is Monday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. Join us on the lawn off Farmcrest with your chairs and blankets for worship. It’s Bring a Neighbor Day so invite a friend. Hang around after church for an ice cream social. An ice cream truck will have treats available for purchase. There is a $10 minimum for credit cards.
BLOOD DRIVE SEPT. 3—Trinity hosts an American Red Cross blood drive on Thursday, Sept. 3 from noon-6 p.m. in the Community Center. The drives at Trinity have been vital to the Red Cross. To sign up, go to RedCrossBlood.org and use code TrinityCT.
LIFE WITH JESUS CLASS FORMING FOR FALL—Our new member class, Life with Jesus, is scheduled to begin the week of Sept. 20. Life with Jesus is for anyone who would like to attend, and is required of those considering membership at Trinity (but does not obligate you to become a member). Sign up through our website at Trinityct.org/LWJ. The website contains more information about the class as well as dates and times for the classes offered twice a week.
SATURDAY WORSHIP PAUSED—Trinity is assessing our service time needs. While we complete the study, we will continue to worship on Monday evenings at 7 p.m. and pause the Saturday evening worship services which typically resume in September. We hope to make a decision regarding service times and days before the beginning of October.

SERMON SERIES—Roamin’ Through Matthew—Peter wants to protect Jesus from suffering, but Jesus knows that the cross is not an interruption of God’s plan—it is the very heart of it. God’s great concern is to rescue His creation through the saving work of Jesus Christ. In Romans 12, Paul shows us what that concern looks like when it takes hold of our lives: sincere love, generous hospitality, patient hope, forgiveness of our enemies, and good that overcomes evil. Jesus invites us to set our minds on the concerns of God and allow His sacrificial love to reshape our own. This week’s readings are Jeremiah 15:15-21, Romans 12:9-21 and Matthew 16:21-28.
NEW LADIES MONDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY begins Monday, Sept. 14 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Church lounge. We will study GOD OF FREEDOM by Jen Wilkin, which covers Exodus 19 to 40 (Mt Sinai/10 commandments/golden calf/tabernacle). WEDNESDAY MORNING WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY—A Wednesday morning women’s Bible study begins Sept. 9 at 11:30 a.m. in the Church Lounge. The group will focus on Romans from the book, “Romans: A 12-Week Study” by Jared C. Wilson. Led by Linda Gawinski. For information call 586-431-1147.

MOMCO IS BACK Are you a mother to little ones, aged newborn to five? Join us for the first MomCo Meet-Up of the school year on Tuesday, Sept. 8. We meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month to learn through speakers, demonstrations and videos while also growing in our faith. Kids play in the nursery with our amazing caregivers while you get to have honest conversations with other moms who understand the joys and frustrations of motherhood. SENIOR SERVICES—Senior Worship Services are mid-week, mid-day services are designed for those who prefer or need a daytime worship opportunity. The Senior Services are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m. through October with lunch served following the service. Mark your calendars for Sept. 16 and Oct. 21. FEED THOSE IN NEED-Trinity provides meals/casseroles for Family of God in Detroit on the second Wednesday. Volunteers are needed to cook or donate a dish. IS YOUR CHILD READY FOR YOUNG FIVES?—This fall, the Early Childhood Center begins offering Young Fives. This program is designed for children who would benefit from an additional year to grow socially, emotionally, and academically before entering kindergarten. The Young Fives program is open to children with a birthday of Sept. 1 to Dec. 1, 2021. Children must complete a preschool program prior to enrollment. The program runs Sept. 8 to June 4, 2027 and follows our grade school calendar, including scheduled breaks and time off. For more information, go to Trinityct.org/young5s.

BAPTISM MARBLES—Do you have baptism jar marbles to discard? We will take them back! Don’t just throw them away, bring them to the Welcome Center and put them in our used marbles jar. They are sanitized and reused for future baptisms.
