SLOW DOWN SUMMER—Summer always goes faster than we think. Before long, the backpacks come back out, routines return, and another summer becomes a memory. So this year, let’s slow down. Slow Down Summer is a new way for the Trinity family to enjoy simple summer moments together through casual pop-up gatherings all season long. From parking lot bike nights to cornhole on the field, ice cream walks, lawn games, and more — these moments are all about connection, community, and making memories together. Watch for texts and emails for these activities—designed to be a little more spontaneous. Join those that fit your schedule and that interest you. Have an idea or want to host an event? Contact Rebecca Thomas at 586-463-2921 ext. 103 or email Stay tuned for upcoming pop-ups all summer long.

  • Our first event is Monday, June 8 following the 7 p.m. worship service. Bring your chalk, soccer balls, kick balls, basketballs or other outside play equipment and take advantage of the open field and the clear cement just calling for chalk drawings. Bring your snacks, drinks, lawn chairs and bug spray. The building will be open for bathrooms only. We’ll hang out until about 9 p.m.

SERMON FOCUS—Matthew wasn’t looking for Jesus when Jesus called him. The Pharisees weren’t looking to be challenged when Jesus answered them. In Matthew 9, grace arrives uninvited, unexpected, and for some people, completely uncalled for. This week, we’ll explore what happens when Jesus steps into ordinary moments and calls people who were not searching for Him at all. His unexpected mercy has a way of revealing the heart, disrupting assumptions, and setting the stage for something unbelievable. Readings for this week are Hosea 5:15-6:6, Romans 4:13-25, and Matthew 9:9-13.

OUTDOOR WORSHIP—Our outdoor worship schedule for the summer is different this year. The outdoor services will be held on the last MONDAY of the month at 7 p.m. with dinner served before and activities held after. The services are planned for June 29, July 27 and Aug. 31. At the June 29 service, we will dedicate the repaired Trinity roof and thank God for his many blessings for that project.

BIBLE STUDY CONCLUDES TODAY—The Bible studies held between services conclude today. This includes the adult Bible study, youth and Sunday school. Throughout the summer, the children’s messages will return during worship. There will also be special children’s activities during our Monday evening outdoor worship services on June 29, July 27 and Aug. 31.

SUNDAY EVENING YOUTH GROUP— Students can join us each Sunday at 6 p.m. in the Youth Lounge. Students get together to grow in God’s Word, develop and deepen friendship and make plans to live out their faith in the world around us. To learn more, join the Group Me. The code is on the posters near the Youth Lounge.

LADIES MONDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY meets each Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the Church Lounge to study "Esther.” Enter the side door near the music room. All ladies are welcome. For information contact Bonnie Young at 586-350-3222
