What’s Happening at Trinity—May 31, 2026
ROOF PROJECT FULLY FUNDED—Thanks to the generosity of our congregation, the roof project has been fully funded. The project restored and repaired the roof on and around the sanctuary. In the future, we plan to celebrate with a roof dedication. We will celebrate the new roof during our first outdoor worship service on Monday, June 29 at 7 p.m.
FOOD PANTRY NEEDS HYGIENE ITEMS—The Food Pantry is in need of hygiene items. This includes deodorant, hand soap, body soap, shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes and any other hygiene items. The Meijer Simply Give gift cards only allow us to buy food items only and our supply of hygiene items is low. To donate, bring the items to donation area near the Parish Nurse office.
SLOW DOWN SUMMER—Summer always goes faster than we think. Before long, the backpacks come back out, routines return, and another summer becomes a memory. So this year, let’s slow down. Slow Down Summer is a new way for the Trinity family to enjoy simple summer moments together through casual pop-up gatherings all season long. From parking lot bike nights to cornhole on the field, ice cream walks, lawn games, and more — these moments are all about connection, community, and making memories together. Because sometimes the best summer nights are the simplest ones. Watch for texts and emails for these activities—designed to be a little more spontaneous. Join those that fit your schedule and that interest you. Have an idea or want to host an event? Contact Rebecca Thomas at 586-463-2921 ext. 103 or email Stay tuned for upcoming pop-ups all summer long.
SUMMER OFFICE SCHEDULE—The Church Office in-person summer hours are Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Staff members are available on Friday afternoons by appointment.
GRADUATION PRAYER—Next Sunday, we plan to pray over all of our graduates—8th grade, high school and college. If you or a love one are a graduate, be with us to mark this moment.

SERMON FOCUS—The Trinity reminds us that truth is sometimes deeper than simple answers. In the Athanasian Creed, we are compelled to confess the unity of God and prohibited from confusing or dividing what He has revealed. This week, we’ll explore how the mystery of the Trinity not only teaches us who God is, but also shapes how we live together: holding complexity and truth side by side, without giving up either one. Readings for this week are Psalm 8 and John 17:13-23.
CHURCH SCHEDULE CHANGE—There are no Saturday services this summer. From now until Labor Day, we have Monday evening worship at 7 p.m. Join us Sunday mornings at 8:30 or 11 a.m. or Mondays at 7 p.m. The first Monday evening service is June 1.
BIBLE STUDY CONTINUES TODAY—Jump into the adult Bible study following the worship service in the Community Center. Pastor Ben digs into the sermon and the readings between services. There is a reserved table for young adults. For those who are unable to join in person, the Bible study is available via Zoom. Go to Trinityct.org/biblestudy. Sunday school is open for kids in grades 1-5. Meet Mrs. Burge in the Commons. Youth in grades 6-12 meet in the Youth Lounge. For more information, contact the Church Office at 586-463-2921 or email
