What’s Happening at Trinity—Oct. 20, 2024

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING OCT. 30—A congregational meeting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Center. This follows the adult E3 meetings.

E3 SESSIONS BEGINNING OCT. 30

As we prepare for our next session of E3, we have a new variety of options for adults. The next session runs through Nov. 29. Dinner is at 6 p.m. followed by the group meetings at 6:30 p.m.

Transformation with Kathy Reither and guest speakers—I Used to Be ___, But Now I’m ___. Come and explore that topic by hearing Trinity members tell us their stories of change. 

Titus with Linda Gawinski—The whole goal of Titus is to Biblically empower women in simple-to-measure, Spirit-empowered, love-based living. Paul singles out the women of faith and charges them with supporting the younger woman in the church.

BAPTISM CLASSES—Pastor Jeremy has a Zoom baptism class scheduled for Nov. 12 and also Jan. 27 . If you are interested in baptism for you or your child, visit Trinityct.org/baptism. LUTHERAN LEARNING OPPORTUNITY—If you love thought provoking discussions (with some of Synod’s best professors) and terrific music, why not consider a few days in Ft. BETHLEHEM BREAKFAST—Ladies, mark your calendars now for the Bethlehem Breakfast on Saturday, Dec. 7. Our theme is "The Christmas Lamb of God" and the event is held at the Italian-American Cultural Center, with a full breakfast served at 9 a.m. Tickets are $25. A table of 10 can be reserved for $250. Tickets are available in the church office beginning Nov. 1, and Sundays, Nov. 10,17, 24. RED LETTER CHALLENGE SERVING PROJECT—This year’s kindergarten class will participate in the annual Thankfulness Drive to benefit Macomb Foster Closet. Items needed include diapers (especially bigger toddler sizes), new socks, underwear, pajamas, and hygiene items. Monetary donations accepted as well! VOICES IN PRAISE REHEARSALS—The adult choir, Voices in Praise, meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the choir room for rehearsals. The choir is made up of members from Trinity as well as St. Luke Clinton Township. This choir performs regularly at Trinity’s 9 a.m. worship and at services at St. Luke. WELLSPRING MEETING—Wellspring Chapter 6 meets on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at First Lutheran Church, 1623 Washington Street, in Algonac. Lunch will be served at noon. On the agenda are Christmas donations and the result of the “Halloween in the Nac” fundraiser. FAMILY OF GOD DINNERS—Trinity provides meals to Family of God in Detroit on the second Wednesday of each month. Volunteers are needed to donate a dish. PIE FUNDRAISER—The Early Childhood Center is hosting its annual Achatz Handmade Pie fundraiser. Order your fruit pie, cream pie, pot pie, lobster pie or even homemade soup coupons from the ECC and $5 of all purchases go to support the center. SPAGHETTI DINNER FUNDRAISER—The Early Childhood Center is hosting a fundraiser to support the Stephens family for medical expenses. On Saturday, Nov. 2 from 2-7 p.m. in the Community Center, the ECC hosts a spaghetti dinner and bake sale. Dinner is available for $10 for adults and $5 for children. VOLUNTEER NEEDED ONCE A MONTH—Trinity is looking for a volunteer to be in the building while the Friendship Club meets. This is a group for teens on the Autism spectrum and their parents and it meets the second Saturday of each month from 7-10 p.m., September-May. The group handles its custodial needs. LEAVES NEEDED—Shredded leaves are garden gold! Boost Trinity's garden quality by donating leaves shredded by lawnmower or other means this fall. Spread at 3-5" deep, winter and earthworms break them down to improve the soil, reduce weeds all next year and retain moisture. Our goal is at least 60 kraft or large plastic bags full, set behind the Corner Garden at Harper and Farmcrest. No pine needles or black walnut please.

8TH GRADERS CHECK OUT LHN—Future Mustang Day is an opportunity for 8th graders and parents to learn more about Lutheran North. The event begins at 9 a.m. in the main gym. Students break into groups and rotate through sectionals. Future Mustang Day concludes at 11:45 a.m. with a pizza lunch provided to our 8th grade guests. No registration or RSVP needed to attend.
