GROUNDWORK GUATEMALA CAN UPDATE—Ongoing thanks to everyone, who brings cans and bottles for Groundwork Guatemala! As of the end of August, $759 has been raised this year. So, what are we doing with the money we raise? We are using it to pay schooling costs for children in the Groundwork program. This year, we are using it to sponsor 10th grade High School student Yefri L., who is majoring in auto mechanics. We are also using it to sponsor elementary students Allison R. (1st grade) and Emerson C. (4th grade). Separate Impact Mission funds also are used to support Oscar Tokay and Julian Perez, two Groundwork missionaries whom we have supported for several years. We will have pictures and additional information on these students and missionaries at the Coffee Corner soon. please keep those cans and bottles coming! *Do please note, rejected cans and bottles left at processing places in Meijer and Kroger (etc.) generally can't be redeemed (or are very difficult timewise to try and figure out where they might be redeemed). Therefore, it is best to leave them where they are.
THANK YOU FROM WELLSPRING—Many thanks to all who supported the Wellspring Cookie Sale. Many children will benefit from your generous support.—Wellspring Chapter 6

CALL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT—Trinity’s Senior Pastor Search Committee received the following acknowledgement from Pastor Barry regarding our call to serve as the next senior pastor. Please continue to pray for Pastor Barry and his family as they search for where God is leading them. Dear Chairperson and Members of Trinity Lutheran Church, I have received the call documents in the mail yesterday calling me to serve as your next senior pastor. I have already begun my prayerful consideration of this new opportunity to serve God in Clinton Township. During this time, I would humbly ask for your prayers as I seek God's will for not only myself, but for Trinity and Saint John's as well. I know this decision came about through an abundance of faithful thought and prayer on your part, and I assure you my deliberations will likewise be filled with much prayer and the desire for God's will to be done. I want to thank you in advance for your support and prayers as I continue to see where God is leading me over these next many days. May God richly bless and keep you in the sure comfort that is ours in Jesus. Pax, Rev. Matthew Barry |
