What’s Happening at Trinity—Sept. 21, 2025

E3 CONTINUES—E3, our Wednesday evening gatherings, continue Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m. Life with Jesus is available for those who want to become members, but the new format makes it engaging for all adults. The youth group meets in the Youth Lounge, a children’s program and the nursery will also be available. Programming begins at 6:30 p.m. No dinner will be served prior to E3. Watch for more information.

NEW ADULT BIBLE STUDY—Beginning Sunday, Sept. 21, a new adult Bible study begins between services from 10:10 to 10:50 a.m. It focuses on the scriptures used in the service each week. A children’s group begins meeting next Sunday at the same time. The youth (6th-12th grade) group Bible study also meets Sundays between services in the Youth Lounge.

SIMPLY GIVE UPDATE—Our spring Simply Give campaign with Meijer of Clinton Township raised $22,170 for Meijer food-only gift cards benefitting our pantry. These cards help us provide food to up to four local families every Monday through Thursday. Our volunteers shop for staples and items on sale to keep the shelves and the fridge full. Meijer has allowed Trinity another round of the Simply Give campaign. That mean from Sunday, Sept. 28-Saturday, Dec. 27, the $10 Simply Give cards purchased at the register will again be donated to Trinity’s food pantry. On top of that, Meijer matches the donations. SERMON SERIES—Through this sermon series, we explore our Mission and the ideas behind Engage God, Engage God’s People, and Engage the World. We also look ahead to October when we begin a discernment process as a church about the Vision that God is giving Trinity for the next 3 years.

CONFIRMATION MODULE REGISTRATION OPEN—If you have a sixth, seventh or eighth grader, it’s time to register for confirmation modules. Head to Trinityct.org/confirmation and select the modules that fit within your schedule. If you have questions about confirmation, contact Katie Erkkinen at

2025 CONFIRMANDS—A confirmation meeting is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 1 from 4-7 p.m. in the Community Center. This prepares the students and their parents for the Rite of Confirmation on Oct. 26.. MONDAY NIGHT LADIES BIBLE STUDY meets Mondays at 6:30 p.m. in the Church Lounge. “God of Deliverance” by Jen Wilkin is a 10-week study of Exodus 1—8, the stories of Moses, and his call to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY—Meet to enjoy God's Word every Tuesday morning 9:30-10:45 a.m. Led by Mary Hartman and Lila Tirsell. Meets in the Church Lounge.

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY—The Wednesday morning men’s Bible study is focusing on the nine-session study covering questions Old Testament characters heard from God, such as when he asked "Where are you?" of Adam and Eve. Through the questions, we are guided inward to reflect on the same questions in our own lives. The men’s Bible study meets Wednesday mornings at 6 a.m. in the Church Lounge. Study materials and coffee provided.

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY—Women’s Bible study meets Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m. in the Church Lounge. The group is using “Acts: The Spread of the Gospel” by John MacArthur. For more information, contact study leader Linda Gawinski at 586-431-1147.

JOIN THE HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE—Interested in building relationships within the congregation? You can do that through the Hospitality Committee! We host coffee hour each Sunday beginning in October. We need volunteers to supply snacks and help serve. School parents: Snack sorter and counter cleaner spots can be used for volunteer hours. WELLSPRING LUTHERAN AUXILIARY first fall meeting is Sept. 23 at St. Peter, 6745 Palms Rd., Fair Haven. This is a Back-to-School Shower so bring donations of school supplies and we will have mystery speaker. Lunch is served at noon for a $5 donation. Everyone is invited to attend. 

FEED THOSE IN NEED-Trinity provides meals/casseroles for Family of God in Detroit on the second Wednesday of each month. Volunteers are needed to donate a dish. Cash donations are also accepted at the Church Office or via Venmo to Cathy Essig (@CLEssig). Family of God serves meals to over 100 people in Detroit 6 days a week. THE ECC IS HIRING—The ECC is looking for a compassionate and dedicated childcare provider to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a passion for nurturing and teaching children, creating a safe and engaging environment for their growth and development. This role involves caring for children of various ages, from 2 to 14 years old. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (35 hours). PRESCHOOL ENROLLMENT—There is still space in the 3-year-old and 4-year-old half-day preschool programs! The 3-year-old preschool program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:15 a.m. to 11 a.m., and the 4-year-old preschool programs meet on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. Both programs run from September to May and include a snack and all supplies!
