>ENGAGE GOD

SERMON FOCUS—From the beginning, God has been a sending God. The Father sends the Son to make His name known, and the Son sends His people to carry that same witness into the world. In John 17, Jesus prays as the One sent by the Father, and as He ascends, He entrusts that mission to His disciples. This week, we’ll reflect on what it means to follow a sending God. Do we have room in our understanding of discipleship for witness, for apostleship, for being sent? And are we open to the possibility that Jesus is sending us to make Him known to the people around us? Readings for the week: Acts 1:12-16, 1 Peter 4:12-19, John 17:1-11.

WANT TO DIVE DEEPER? Join us for an adult Bible study following the worship service in the Community Center. Pastor Ben digs into the sermon and the readings between services. There is a reserved table for young adults. The nursery is available for those not yet in grade school. Sunday school is open for kids in grades 1-5. Meet Mrs. Burge in the Commons. Youth in grades 6-12 meet in the Youth Lounge.
